Look up any US ZIP code.

Type a five-digit ZIP code and get its city, county and state right away. ZIP codes are the backbone of LTL routing and rating, so a quick check before you book keeps your bill of lading — and your quote — accurate. It runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Why it matters

ZIP codes run your freight

To a carrier, a ZIP code is not just an address — it is the unit that defines a lane, a terminal and a rate. Three reasons to get it right before you ship.

Routing and transit

Carriers plan lanes and terminals around ZIP codes. The origin and destination ZIP set which terminals a shipment moves through and how many days it takes — the first thing any LTL quote asks for.

Rates and coverage

Freight rates are lane-based, and the lane is defined by ZIP-to-ZIP. Some ZIPs sit outside standard service areas or in limited-access zones — knowing that up front avoids surprise accessorial charges.

Accuracy on the BOL

A wrong ZIP on the bill of lading can misroute freight, delay delivery and trigger correction fees. Confirming the ZIP resolves to the city and county you expect is a fast, free check worth doing.

How this tool works

Everything happens in your browser. The ZIP data ships with the site as a set of small, same-origin files — one per two-digit ZIP prefix — and the tool loads only the file it needs the moment you search. Nothing you type is sent to a server, no third-party service is called, and there is no account, tracking or wait. It is a genuinely working lookup, which the version advertised on the old site never was.

The dataset covers more than 40,000 US ZIP codes with their primary city, county and state. Because a single city can span several ZIP codes and even multiple counties, the county shown is the one GeoNames records as primary for that ZIP. For a firm freight quote, the ZIP is what matters — and our team confirms service and transit for your exact origin and destination before anything moves.
